2020 has been quite a year! We’ve seen the industry adapt and host some incredible online events. These events have brought people together to share memorable experiences.
Among the top events in which Flock played a role over the past year were:
1. Meetings Africa
The Meetings Africa 2020 event showcases Africa as a World-Class destination to host Business Events and Meetings, which took place in February 2020.
The event provides a space for African associations, event planners, travel agencies, conference organizers and other industry professionals to partner and transform the African continent by bringing key industry individuals together to network and brainstorm. The event saw over 150 exhibitors offering various services and products for the events industry.
Flock Eventing Platform assisted with the execution of the conference with its custom-branded mobile app which allowed attendees to easily navigate the conference and its various exhibits. Flock created the branded app for Meetings Africa to showcase the exhibitors, the sponsors and promoted destinations, in and around Johannesburg, all from a central user-friendly application on the cell phone of each delegate.
2. MTN App Awards
Flock was thrilled, to once again, assist MTN to host its 9th annual MTN Mobile App Awards, which took place in October 2020. This was the 6th year that Flock assisted MTN with its Awards ceremony and the first time that the event was entirely virtual. Flock’s app played a key role in assisting MTN transition from a physical to a virtual event as seamlessly as possible.
Despite the obvious restrictions due to COVID-19, the event was a huge success, which gave a nod to Flock’s cutting-edge app developers.
3. CIGFARO
CIGFARO’s (what is CIGARO), recent 2020 annual conference, with its Quo Vadis theme, over five days in October, was also hosted completely online with the help of the Flock app.
The decision to take this year’s conference virtual allowed attendees to take part from any location. Flock helped make the CIGFARO conference a success by providing the organisation with its full RSVP suite and hosted the conference through Hopin, a virtual event venue that Flock was able to tailor to CIFARO’s conferencing needs.
4. ACCA
Flock Eventing Platform assisted Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) to host its 9th Africa Partnership Conference. The conference spanned two days and provided an opportunity for ACCA members to meet with industry experts to share insights and resources around the theme of Revitalising Partnerships and Reimagining Africa. Flock designed a RSVP landing page and hosted the virtual conference through the Hopin virtual venue.
5. PSG
The Think Big Series hosted by renowned financial journalist, Bruce Whitfield and
financial services group, PSG, provides a platform for industry thought leaders to come together and discuss some of the burning issues in their respective fields.
Flock Eventing Platform took care of the event invites, landing page, live streaming, and the post-webinar surveys for PSG. The Think Big Series produced some incredible material and cutting-edge ideas from major fields in South Africa. The PSG Think Big Series was an incredibly exciting event Flock had the opportunity which we were thrilled to be a part of.
